  • hosted exchange - multi domains single outlook

I have a client who seems to have two domains hosted with the same provider.

    Call it Company.com.au and NewCompany.com.au
They are both definitely Exchange hosted providers and there's domain separation between the two. (At least, this is my understanding so far, pending more from the vendor)

Both these domains use the same Client Access Server and Autodiscover server.
Both domains have separate authentication details for each mailbox.

(so, [email protected] and [email protected])
They are trying to use Outlook 2010 with Multiple-Mailboxes to configure this and it's not working.

I'm suspecting, but not certain, that this is going to be problematic because the CAS is going to see a single client trying to connect to two different domains, from the same CAS server, with different authentication, and it's going to fail

(in the same way that if I try and open a shared network folder using company\andy and then newcompany\Andy - it will fail and tell me it's already got a mapped connection.

Am I on track here, or am I just doing something wrong?

never mind. I was being an idiot andd trying to savfe the credentials to prevent the customer from being annoyed.
So the first account details got saved in Cached Crednetials, then the other failed to connect.
