  • New Local Move Requests Appear Out of Nowhere!

    It's been a while since I've posted.

I have a mind boggling situation here and I can't find anything on Google about it so I am reaching out to the fine folks here at Petri

    Here's the situation:

We are in the process of migrating our mailboxes from Exchange 2003 to Office 365 with a hybrid Exchange 2010 server in the middle.

We have AD syncronization and federation set up.

We can successfully migrate mailboxes from our site to the cloud via "Remote Move Requests".

Everything is good up to that point.... but THEN, VERY RANDOMLY, SOME of the malboxes that we have moved to the cloud will appear again in the Move Request queue. But this time, they are "Local Move Requests". They WERE NOT initiated by anyone on staff here. They appear to have been initiated by "Administrator" and are moving between storage locations in the cloud.

They just seem to sit there and do nothing.

Has anybody experienced this and do you know what it means?

Office365 questions should be directed to Office365 support.
I expect that you are seeing the load balancing taking place, moving the mailboxes to another database automatically.
