  • Best Practises Analyzer

    Hi

I have inherited an exchange setup and am trying to troubleshoot a few event log errors.

As part of my troubleshooting process I ran the best practises analyzer, this showed up 2 messages that concern me a lot

    Server: HUB2

    'HubTransportRole' configured partially

    Server: mbx2

    'MailboxRole' configured partially

Both HUB2 and mbx2 have been in production use for a while and appear to be running fine, however on checking the C:\ExchangeSetupLogs\ExchangeSetup.log file on each of the problem servers I can see setup did not complete fully.

These are the last entries in ExchangeSetup.log for HUB2

As mentioned this server (which just runs the hub transport role) has been running fine, it has had rollup update 4 v2 installed recently and the event logs are clear.

Is this something I should be concerened about? if I re-ran the install would it retain all the current setup? would I need to reapply any service packs, rollup updates?

The mbx2 server runs the mailbox server role and is part of a DAG - it has live mounted databases on it + I recently installed rollup v4 v2 on it -

This is the last few entries in the ExchangeSetupLog

[05/29/2012 12:41:30.0510] [1] [ERROR] The active server for database Mailbox Database 1376375431 (e3e8b3cb-515c-4e33-a071-51b098c5606a) could not be found.

Any tips on whether this is serious enough to re-install the mailbox server?

    Thanks

    Paul
