  • Maybe not so stupid question...

    Hi,
I know it's bad, bad form to try to copy an Exchange DB, but I have a unique situation...
We have a VM with Ex 2007 that we had to relocate due to the recent hurricane. It functioned well for 2 days, but had to be moved back to our original location. I power it up but now the NIC won't take an IP, shows a red X.... Have tried all the standard stuff, googled, etc... can't wrap my head around this after the week we've had. In the interest of speed, I was considering using a backup of the VM from 10/28 and just copying the Exchange DB over. Crazy?
    Thanks,
    Scott

It may work, may not. Depends if the database is clean or not.
You are talking about using an offline backup, so it is something that can be done.

    Simon.
