  • How to redirect mail to other domain in exchange 2010

I want to redirect all my emails coming to exchange to other domain. How to do this?
I have created a rule, but its working only for the same domain.

    Many thanks in advance

Can you explain some more, with some actual information (fake domain names if you like, but where the servers are)

Roughly, you need to create an accepted domain but the type (e.g. relay) will depend on your setup.

      Hi Ossian,

Thanks for your reply; actually i have a user who wants all his mails to be automatically redirected to other public domain (lets say gmail).

I have exchange 2010, i created a rule in OWA but it doesn't work. It works if i redirect it to the user of my domain only.

        Ah -- totally different
Create a contact with his GMail address and set the "forward to" option in his mailbox

Note make sure sending email outside fits in with your corporate policies!

          Thank you for your answer

Already tried this option; but it doesn't work. Any other method?

That is the normal method, and works in most organisations. What exactly doesn't work in your environment?

Also, given the existence of Outlook Anywhere and Outlook Web App, why does one user need forwarding to gmail of all places?

Can't ask the same question to the user, coz she is the CEO of our company

Anyways; the issue is that user can't receive the redirected mail to her gmail a/c. Anything more to be done apart from setting the forward to option in the mail box?

Surely you get SOME feedback on what is happening?
is the email leaving your environment?
Can you send direct to the GMail address (or are you blacklisted)?
                Message tracking logs?

Does forwarding from another account to a different (a) gmail and (b) other external e.g. Hotmail work?

Even if she is the CEO she would still be covered by compliance/laws/regulations/requirements depending on your business too.
                  cheers

You weren't told to create an account, you were told to create a CONTACT. They are very different.
The CONTACT has the gmail address on it and is then set as the forward.
