    from how many mailboxes should I consider using DAG implementation,

    or from what database size ?

    You're asking the wrong question. You need to start out with "What are my requirements". You then work out things like your budget against what you need.

      so its a license based component?

      what I want to achieve is better network access for clients and Survivability for our 3 exchange databases.

        DAGs do not affect client access -- a CAS array will improve that.

        Remember, you need Windows Server Enterprise edition to create a DAG so remember to budget for that.
        Also remember, DAGs do not replace good backups!
