  • Transitioning from Exchange 2007 CAS array to 2010 CAS array

    Hi Everyone,
As per MS, there could be only one CAS array per AD site. We currently have Exchange 2007 CAS array in place.
My question is, during the co-existing period how do I configure CAS array for our exchange 2010 CAS servers?
In other words, What is the CAS array transition path from 2007 to 2010?
    Thanks

Re: Transitioning from Exchange 2007 CAS array to 2010 CAS array

No, you don't have a CAS Array at the moment if you are on Exchange 2007.
CAS Array is an Exchange 2010 feature.

I don't know what you think you have on Exchange 2007, but it isn't a CAS Array.

The transition path from Exchange 2007 to 2010 will be a CAS array host name configured on Exchange 2010. Then when the mailboxes are moved to the Exchange 2010 platform they will be redirected to the Exchange 2010 CAS array rather than the Exchange 2010 server holding the CAS role.
