  • completely remove old Exchange 2007 server from AD

i move my Exchange 2007 to a new server but only disabled the Exchange services from the old server.

all my mailboxes and public folders have been working fine on the new server for months now.

now i want to remove the old Exchange 2007 server from sight (from AD, from EMC) and i found this link

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...exchg.80).aspx

if i do the above, i'm assuming it will remove and affect only the old Exchange 2007 server. am i right?

The only supported way to remove Exchange is to use add/remove programs. It will not affect anything else in the Exchange org as long as you have moved all services etc to another server.
