  • Exchange 2007 SP2 - Audit Logging through OWA

We are running exchange 2007 in a cluster, 2 front end, 2 backend

    2 Node CAS/HUB

    2 Node Active/Passive MBX role

I have enabled Diagnostic Logging of MSExchangeIS \Private 9000

    MSExchangeIS\9000 Private\Logons
    MSExchangeIS\9000 Private\Folder Access
    MSExchangeIS\9000 Private\Message Access
    MSExchangeIS\9000 Private\Extended Send As
MSExchangeIS\9000 Private\Extended Send On Behalf Of

The idea is if UserA accesses UserB mailbox we want to know. The entries are only showing when it is done from Outlook but does not work when UserA accesses UserB from OWA.

I've tested by loggin in as UserA and opening UserB mailbox from Outlook and when you go the Exchange Auditing logs on the Active server running the Mailbox role it shows the entry but when the same action is performed from OWA it does not appear.

I have reviewed a number of online articles but no resolution The best links I found shows a screenshot of what the Client Information would look like when performed from OWA so I immediately assumed it is possible but for some reason is not appearing.

Here are the URLs: I would appreciate assistance.

    Thanks in advance.
