  • Selective Send Connector based on Transport Rule

    I want to be able to send emails out via SMTP2 (Send Connector) base on the recipient belonging to a Distribution Group, and having a particular attachment.

    I can see that Transport Rules can detect based on a Distribution Group and also on attachments (use Text Pattern .zip$ for example) but there is no Action to use a particular Send Connector.

    Is this possible in Exchange 2010?

    Senario

    User A -> to: User B -> SMTP (Default)
    User C -> to: User D -> SMTP (Deafult)
    User C -> to: User D (with .zip attachment) -> SMTP2

    Thanks.

    Unfortunately this isn't possible with Exchange 2010.

    What would be the reason to want such kind of routing.

      Thanks for the reply.

      Senario would be User B's domain @thisdomain.com that contains a encrypted attachment must be sent to a secure gateway to be decrypted. Other wise sent on its usual path.

        Re: Selective Send Connector based on Transport Rule

        If all mails to the domain @thisdomain.com should go through the secure gateway it would be possible, but not based on the mail or attachment content.

        Routing within Exchange can only be done based on target domains.
