  • Antispam on exchange 2007

Dear all, I have an exchange server 2007 running under windows server 2008 R2 on a single server. The problem I am facing is that I am receinving so many spams and I am wondering what antispam solutions can be suitable for me. Thanks.

    This is impossible to answer.
There is no one antispam solution that works for everyone.
I have seen every product work and every product fail, because the type of spam the server receives is different.

The usual cause for the failure though isn't blocking spam, it is blocking legitimate email. Therefore you will have to evaluate the various products and services to see what works for you.

There is a built in antispam agent in Exchange - it isn't installed by default. You need to use them using the script in the Scripts directory.
If you start looking at the third party products, I usually avoid anything by an AV vendor.

Popular choices include GFI Mail Essentials, Vamsoft ORF, Postini, Message Labs, there is quite a choice, but I cannot make a recommendation because it depends on how they work for you.

Create an evaluation process, run the products on detect and not block only and see what they would have caught.

    Simon.

I have had good results with GFI Mail Essentials.
