  • exchange 2003 mailbox to 2010

we have a 2003 domain with exchange 2003 (domain.xx) and some mailboxes and alot public folders . .

due of some changes in our company we had to set op a complete new 2008r2 domain with exchange 2010 (domain.yy) so we have two networks running now and are busy to move all documents to the new environment . .

how can we move the email-boxes from the 2003 to the 2010 environment ??

we don't prefer to make .pst files of mailboxes for the users to import in exchange 2010 (most users working remotely)

    regards
    Trevor

You can consider using a remote mailbox move between Exchange organisations or depending on your requirements, linked mailboxes are also worth considering.

There are a number of ways and you perhaps should identify your requirements and then search for the relevant approach/solution.

Depends on what type of migration you are doing. Is it a 'transition' or a 'migration' from/to another Forest?

If the former this guide may be of some use:

        http://milindn.files.wordpress.com/2...hange-2010.pdf

The lata has slightly more caveats around co-existence. Once you know what your strategy is this will dictate your migration route.

Additionally there is no need to make .pst's out of any of your mailboxes unless you require these as backup.
