  • Exchange 2010 - won't accept any outlook connection

    Hello,
I'm having a problem with connecting outlook 2007/2010 to the exchange server 2010 but only from out of the office, in the office and on the mobile and smartphones it works even out of the office.
*.it used to work fine on the outlook out of the office till 3 weeks ago, i have no idea what was happend that make it stop.
*.I have the exchange installed on server 2008 R2 the server installed 10 month ago.
*.I changed the router a month ago but i was loaded all the settings on the firewall and port forwarding as it was.
    *.owa works fine too.

please any questions that you may have that would help you to solve me the problem

Thanks for your help in advance

Re: exchaneg 2010 - won't accept any outlook connection

I would start with www.testexchangeconnectivity.com and run all the tests -- the feedback will give useful information on where the problem is

Is it a proper 3rd party certificate, or are you using the Exchange Self Signed one?

      Hi,
      Thank you for your reply,
The Cert is from the server and not a 3rd party.
about the exchange test, I ran but with no success

Testing the SSL certificate to make sure it's valid.
      Certificate trust is being validated.
      Certificate trust validation failed.
      Test Steps
ExRCA is attempting to build certificate chains for certificate CN=server.
A certificate chain couldn't be constructed for the certificate.

what should I do to make it work!!!!!

      Thanks for your help

Re: exchaneg 2010 - won't accept any outlook connection

Get a 3rd Party SAN Certificate from e.g. www.godaddy.com (review to see what names you need)

Consider getting a consultant to review your environment and set it up for you

Re: exchange 2010 - won't accept any outlook connection

The self signed SSL certificate that Exchange creates is not supported for use with Outlook Anywhere, or Exchange ActiveSync. You would be well advised to follow the advice above and get a commercial SSL certificate.
