  • Exchange server 2010 - Outgoing email

    Hi,

I have recently configured exchange server in my 2008R2 domain environment.

The email service works fine inside the network and receiving email from external email servers(gmail, hotmail, etc...) however when sending out it wont send. i have configured a send connector. which i have been told should work.

    Any ideas ?

    Ajw901.

What error are you getting? How exactly have you configured the connector?

      Hi,

      i used this guide here - http://bit.ly/emTvkN

This is what sending mail come back as -

"This message hasn't been delivered yet. Delivery will continue to be attempted.
The server will keep trying to deliver this message for the next 1 days, 19 hours and 57 minutes. You'll be notified if the message can't be delivered by that time."

That is just a delay message. Doesn't actually tell you the real cause.

Have you ensured that port 25 is open to the Internet? Can you telnet to external MX servers on port 25? It could be that your ISP has blocked port 25 outbound and you need to use their servers for outbound email.

          Hi,

I'm guessing now that the ISP is blocking port 25 outbounds.

I'll change it so the mail gets sent through the ISP and then see what happens.

          Thanks
