    Hello.

I just install new exchange 2010 to my existing exchange 2003 domain environment.
    I choose this roles:

    Mailbox role
    Hub Transport role
    Unified Massaging role
    Management tools

Client access role will be installed on another computer wit public ip adress. (still now installed)

In the installation process Mailbox role, was not installed for some reason. But then in Control Panel is added successfully without any problems.

Problem is that I can not connect in any way to the new server. Nothing in the console or in the shell. This error as me giving it from a shell.

[serverl] Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : The connection to the specif
ied remote host was refused. Verify that the WS-Management service is running on the remote host and configured to list
en for requests on the correct port and HTTP URL. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic
    .

Do you have any idea where is the problem ?

    Thank you.

Any reason why you installation that combination of roles on the server?
I wouldn't have done so myself.

I would have left MBX on its own on the server, with Hub, CAS and UM (if required) on a separate server.
Have you installed a CAS server?

    Simon.

      http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2027064

      Possible Causes:

      1. Make sure the MSExchangePowerShellAppPool is running. If it is, try recycling the Application Pool and check for errors or warnings in the Event logs.

      2. Make sure that the user that is trying to connect is Remote PowerShell Enabled (see the first error for details on how to check this).

      3. Make sure WinRM is properly configured on the server.

      a. Run WinRM Quick Config on the server and ensure that both tests pass and no actions are required. If any actions are required, answer Yes to the prompt to allow the WinRM configuration changes to be made.

      b. Run WinRM enumerate winrm/config/listener and ensure that a listener is present for the HTTP protocol on port 5985 listening on all addresses.

This of course is under the assumption you have a working CAS server in your environment.

I was install CAS and problem is solved.

        Thanks.

I must move mailboxes to new server now.

But why in "active directory user and computers" on 2008 r2 i do not have "Exchange tasks" ?
I try to create new user - no problem, but no e-mail created. In "Active directory users and computers" on 2003 i have "Exchange tasks"
But when trying "create mailbox" and select my new exchange 2010 server i do not have mailbox store and cannot continue.
        What i miss ?

About roles, how is better? One server for all roles or like Sambee says MBX on one and others on another server. I have about 50 users.

In case i choose Sambee way, wich server will need more resources ?

Also i have 3 mailbox databases 2 are dismounted and one is mounted, is that normal ?

        Thanks.

The "Exchange Tasks" option was gotten rid of in Exchange 2007 in favour of the Exchange Console.

            Thanks beddo

            I have sending issue.
I was redirect port 25 in my router to my exchage 2003 server.
If mailbox is on 2010 server, receiving of massages is normal. But sending is delayed about 6-8 hours. And i cannot figure that out why ?

            Thanks all.

Can you get the headers of one of the messages that has gone out?

An expired message is useless. It doesn't show where the delay was. You need the headers of a message that was successfully delivered with the time delay.

                    Unfortunate i was deleted them.

I think the problem also can be, because mu queue not looking normal like this:

But looking like this: (you can see attachments)
The server is trying to send all massages via some strange queue. The massages pass-trough only the first time with very big delay.

I think the servers is trying to send massages via old 2003exchange.
If I'm right, how to fix it ?

I want only the connection form exchange2003 to 2010.

Re: problem connecting fresh installed exchange 2010

Have you created a Send Connector? If not, then anything that was in Exchange 2003 will be used. You cannot convert the SMTP connector in Exchange 2003, you will have to create a new one.
If there is an SMTP connector in place and you don't want Exchange 2003 to send email to the Internet then you will have to delete it through ESM, not EMC.

                        Simon.

I had one SMTP Connector, he looks very normal to me, so i decide it is ok.
But after your remind i deleted it and create new one.

Now i'm able to send/recieve e-mails to external servers. But not able to send to my 2003 server mailbox. The massage is routed via "firs routing groups" (that with the long name) queue. I dont know why ?
Sending from 2003 to 2010 is working.

I also upgrade my adress lists, move public folders, move OAB, so i just must move my mailboxes, decomition 2003 server and im ready.

                        Thanks ALL

Check your firewall and the IP access lists on the SMTP connector on the 2003 server. When we moved from 2003 SBS to 2011 SBS recently I had something similar and it was because I locked down the SMTP connector in the past.

When I took away the restriction, everything flowed from Exchange 2010 to 2003 fine. I was scratching my head for a while though..

What is mail.risk.bg ? It resolves to an IP address from here. Is it an external machine or is it the name you gave to your 2010 machine?

If it is external then I would question why the headers for an internal message end with the mail being handed off to an external server.

If it is internal, what does mail.risk.bg look up as internally, does it come up with the external IP or the internal IP of the 2010 machine?
