  • Two forests, two domains, single exchange server

    Hi All,
Lets says, our company have main office and branch office. I want to setup two seperate domains in two seperate forests for main office and branch office because brach office will soon become under seperate management.
but based on some reasons, we need to use single exchange server which will host at main office.
I don't want to build trust between these two domains. Is it possible to setup like that and if yes how can I set up?
If not, please kindly point me out what is the best the way.
    Thanks

An exchange organisation is the same as the AD forest, so the only way would be to create user accounts in the Exchange forest for all your users in the other one.

      Hi Ossian,
Yes,it's correct. But it needs to build trust and is the only solution, right?
So, must have seperate exchange organization for two forests if I don't want to build trust.

      Thanks

No, you dont need a trust if your users can just enter credentials in the Exchange forest
