  • Mail server unable to relay

Hello, I have configured an Exchange 2007 server with just Hub Transport role
to relay emails from another domain in the same VLAN. I have configured the Receive connectors to be receiving mails from the sending mail servers, with their respective IPs. The server I have just
configured is directly connected a firewall, to the internet. The transport service has started. When the mails come in from the other domain, my server receives them but is unable to relay.

This is the error I receive :
    220 myservername.mydomain.com Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready at Thu, 3 Mar 2011 08:16:25 -0800
    HELO otherdomain.com
    250 myservername.mydomain.com Hello [10.161.85.5]
    MAIL FROM:<[email protected]>
    250 2.1.0 Sender OK
    RCPT TO:<[email protected]>
    550 5.7.1 Unable to relay
    QUIT
221 2.0.0 Service closing transmission channel

How can this relay error be solved?. Thanks.

Re: Mail server unable to relay

    Hi ,

You need to run following commands on the receive connector

    Just an example
    Get-ReceiveConnector "CRM Application" | Add-ADPermission -User "NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON" -ExtendedRights "ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient"

    Thanks & Regards
