  • Redirect Out bound mail

I have Exchange 2007 and would like to send all outbound e-mail to a spam filter, whats the best way to have all e-mail traffic leaving our network to pass through our filter first?

As of now all out bound mail is just going straight out of our network without being checked.

    on your hub server
    1. Send Connectors tab
    2. Right click on External/properties
    3. Network tab
    4. add your spam filter IP address there.

I have 2 connectors in there now. One says Internet and one says SMTP Out, would I use the SMTP out?

Also do I need to set something up on my Spam filter server to allow message from my mail server to pass through my Spam filter server?

GFI MailEssentials. I have tried adding the IP address of my Spam server to the Outbound SMTP Send Connector but mail does not hit the spam server but mail still goes out.

I go to EMC>Organization Configuration>Hub Transport>Send Connector and configure the SMTP OUT connector with the IP address of my Spam server but no luck.

I think I got it figured out. I added the IP address to the Internet Connector in the outbound connector and on the Spam Filter server under SMTP I allowed relaying for my may server IP address. Now I see out going email hitting the Spam server.
