  • Reverse DNS has internal domain

We have upgraded our exchagne 2003 to exchagne 2010.

Emails are working fine, except for some domians.

When i check the queue, it has error of "550 Service unavailable; client host [ip_address] blocked using trend micro RBL+"

So i did smtp lookup from mxtoolbox, which gave the following result:

    220 DADEXCH.dadholding.local Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready at Tue, 22 Feb 2011 15:44:04 +0300

    OK - 83.96.74.26 resolves to mail.dadholding.com

I dont know how my internal domain "dadholding.local" is available here ("DADEXCH is our Exchange server name").

I checked the Receive connectors, which has the FQDN as DADEXCH.dadholding.local, do i need to change it to mail.dadholding.com?
And for my Send Connector, the FQDN was blank, so i added mail.dadholding.com.

So please guide to have a good DNS MX records for my mail server.

    Thanks

Re: Reverse DNS has internal domain

The most important thing is to set the FQDN on the Send connector to match your public FQDN for the server, which is mail.dadholding.com.

The FQDN set on the Receive connector isn't important but I set it to match the FQDN on the Send connector for consistencies sake.
