  • Help getting OWA working. Getting HTTP 503. Exchange 2007

We have recently upgraded to a server running Exchange 2007. Exchange is functioning well and workstations connect fine using Outlook but I can’t get Outlook Web Access to work.
I have left the self signed certificate in place as I do not want to complicate the matter by getting a proper SSL certificate before seeing OWA running.
When I try to connect to OWA internally using the default page https:// servername.domainname.com /owa. I first get told there is a problem with the website’s security certificate which I expect as its self signed.
However when I click continue I get HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.
The server is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with Exchange 2007.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

I would strongly suggest that you change your mind about switching to a commercial certificate. It is far easier to troubleshoot without the complication of an untrusted SSL certificate.

Have you configured the URLs correctly? Do they resolve to the correct location?
