    Dear All,

I have installed an exchange 2010 on an esxi 4 free serve under win 2008 r2. Does anybody knows a good free or commercial product that can backup the vm. Will I be able to restore the vm in a new esxi server in case of a disaster?

Backup Exec has an agent for VMWare. Personally though I would just backup the data in the VM as though it were a physical server rather than using that. Any backup product that can handle remote machines can then be used, and my personal preference is always to use a product that is Exchange aware for backing up Exchange servers.

You will need to use an Exchange aware backup application to backup Exchange correctly.
As it is so easy to recover Exchange 2010, doing a backup of just Exchange is all that is required.
Unfortunately you will have to use third party tools, as the built in tool only allows the use of hard disks connected directly to the server. The cheapest I am aware of is Backup Assist.
