  • Delaying emails to a certain domain - possible?

    Hello,

I'm running Exchange 2007 and was asked to delay all outgoing emails to Hotmail.* for late night hours. I understand this option was removed in E2k7 but there must still be a way, right? Well, I hope.

    Thanks,
    X

    you can route by destination
with excahgen 2003, you could configure the connector to only route at specific times

at least i'm fairly sure you could do this

I have no problems blocking emails from certain domains\users. But delay? Just cant seem to find it.

you can configure an SMTP connector to only send at specific times

        try this:
        http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/...Connector.html
"specify when messages are sent through this connector"

you'd then need to ensure that hotmail.com is in the address space (and nothing else) and it has the lowest cost possible

Is an SMTP Connector for specific domains still possible in Exchange 2007? I seem to remember a similar topic not long ago, and the article on msexchange.org refers to Exchange 2003.

Re: Delaying emails to a certain domain - possible?

The ability to use different times for delivery to different domains as per Exchange 2003 was removed in Exchange 2007 and later. So the answer to the original question is very simple. You can't. The only options available to you are sending via another host. Time restriction doesn't come in to it.
