  • assigning Send/Full permissiosn to a group

I've created a group, let's call it G_Common_MBX_FullAccess, and added some members to it.
I've gone into the EMC, and selected a mailbox, right clicked and managed Permissions. I added the group to full control permissions.

However - in the 'Select User or Group' field, the group I've created shows as a Grey group icon, like the Domain Users group, for instance.
Other groups, say "All Company Users" show as a brightly coloured group.
Is there something wrong with the way I created my global security group.

IE, should it be a mail-enabled group ?

Nope - apparently it's not essential that it's a MEG - I've just confirmed this. anyone tell me why it's a grey icon though ?

It is grey because it isn't under the control of Exchange - basically because it isn't mail enabled. If you mail enable it, then it should become coloured.
