  • Catalog Folder taking up space

Hello, I have an Exchange 2007 setup, recently the Catalog <GUID> folder attached to my exchange database started growing in large volumes, taking up disk space.

Is this folder linked with the mailbox database indexing?

How do I delete this folder to reclaim back the size on my hard disk, since it seems I running out of disk space.

    Thank you.

Re: Catalog Folder taking up space

That folder is connected to the mailbox indexing, and you can't remove it.
If this is a new installation, then you failed to take in to account the index. All you can do is rebuild it, you can't remove it as it is part of the functionality of Exchange.

Being blunt, you will need to look elsewhere for additional space, or get a new server that has its storage configured appropriately.

    Simon.

Okay Sir, thanks for the information. Infact we have to get extra disks, and move the databases too.

      Thanks.
