  • Move a Public Folder to a new public folder database on the same server.

    I have Exchange 2010 with Windows 2008 R2.
I had a problem with Public Folders after migrating from 2003 to 2010. (NB: Exchange 2003 is deleted)

I can access the public folders in Outlook, but when I try to access the public folders via Public Folders Management Console, i get an error:
    Code:
Cannot complete the operation because there isn't an available public folder database on server 'xxxx'. It was running the command 'get-publicfolder -getchildren -identity '\' -server 'xxxxx.xxxxx.local''.
So I googled to resolve this. Finally I resolved this, I have access the public folders in Public Folders Management Console. But then I don't have access on Outlook for public Folders.

So that's why I want to make a new database for Public Folders.
It's possible to move the public folders to a new database on the same server?
    Or there's another solution?

You can only have one public folder allocated per storage group/database.
Trying to create another public folder database on the same server will never work reliably. If you have a problematic database then build a temporary server. Replicate all the data to that new server, remove the old replicas, Public Folder references on the databases etc, then replicate it all back in to a new database.
