  • multiple junk deliveries

    A client has a single hosted exchange mailbox, with multiple aliases.

    let's call it [email protected] with aliases [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected].

    All users access the same mailbox, via either OWA or OA (I'm not certain yet) and when junk is delivered, they end up with two or three copies of the junk in the junk mail folder.

    My expectation is that this is normal, as each client is processing it using it's own internal junk mail filter. Sound right ?

    I access my own mailbox from anything between two and five machines depending on location, and don't see this with the built in junk mail options.
    It would very much depend on what is doing the filtering, Outlook, Exchange or a third party product.

      all at the same time ?

        Yes, all at the same time.
        Desktop, laptop, tablet, off site virtual machine usually always connected.

        Although I don't get much spam reaching the mailbox, Vamsoft ORF deals with most of it.

            Can you confirm, this is multiple user accounts (domain logons) accessing the same mailbox?
            Sembee has (I presume) one account accessing the mailbox on multiple machines

              Yes - multiple users, with separate domain accounts.
              All users are accessing the same mailbox identity via Outlook Anywhere, on a hosted exchange site.

                Instinct says third party interference.
                Other products will use the junk email filter. As this is a hosted Exchange, they are probably not use the native antispam, but another product.
