  • Replicate Exchange EMail to Another Server

    Good morning
I'm looking for a solution to have a replica of exchange server 2007 mailboxes toward another mail server non-exchange.

    This is the situation:
Domain A: MS exchange 2007 managed from supplier.
Domain B: I would like have here a copy of specific mailboxes (replicated or syncronized)
Domain A and B have a trusted relantioship.

I would like have minimum impact on exchange 2007 prefering working from doamin B side.
Our final goal would be have a mails copy to manage using pop3 and allow some users to work with iPhone, iPad and similar devices.

thanks to everyone for any suggestions you might have

The only thing you can do for email to another server is to put a forward on the email mailbox. That will only capture inbound email though.
You can journal email to another server, but that will be all email in the same mailbox.

Simply put, Exchange is not designed to do this. If you want to have email on another server for some reason then you would use the native functionality, such as SCR, which will require another Exchange licence.

      thanks for reply

anyway SCR is used for disaster recovery and is not active (correct?. So I couldn't have a pop3 enabled there to use for Iphone and similar.
Also, it have to be installed on the same domain of Exchange 2007 and I can't.

I tried to install a 3rd party mail server in domain B but I'm not able to find the way to get AD users from domain A.
Maybe do you know some other type of mail server?

Re: Replicate Exchange EMail to Another Server

You can't go across Forests with Exchange.
Why don't you just allow iwhatever to connect directly to Exchange, rather than trying to get the email to another location. You are simply over complicating matters.

Furthermore, if you do have email on another server, you will not be capturing messages sent from those devices in the original mailbox.

SCR is a DR function and isn't live.

          Yes, this is terrible true.

what is iWhatever ? another iPhone application?

Re: Replicate Exchange EMail to Another Server

iWhatever is my shorthand for all of the Apple devices that start with i, without listing them all.

Why aren't you using the native tools? ActiveSync support is native to the i devices.

Re: Replicate Exchange EMail to Another Server

Activesync for exchange could be a solution, but I should ask to enable it on the exchange server side where I don't have the control.
I would have prefered a solution to develop on my domain-side.

              anyway... let'see.

              Thank zou
