  • Offline Address Book replica not found

When running the Exchange 2010 best practices analyzer, it keeps saying that the Offline Address Book replica not found.

Didn't find a replica of folder 'OAB Version 4' for offline address book 'Default Offline Address Book'. Either a replica doesn't exist, or this folder hasn't been created yet. If an OAB generation attempt has not yet been made, you can ignore this error.

I try looking at this issue and how to resolve it, but it keeps bringing up information on how to resolve for exchange 2003.

    Any ideas?.

    Thanks

I am seeing the same situation. I have followed the instructions on the "tell me how to resolve this" link without any luck.

I've forced a an OAB generation and restarted the system attendant and file distribution services, but this message still shows up in BPA.

The fix applies for Exchange 2007/10 as well.
Ensure that in Public Folders under the properties of the OAB and all of its sub folders that you have at least one server listed as a replica.

That makes sense. Thanks! to clarify a little, i went into the system public folders -> Offline address book and made sure that there was a replica server listed. Squeeky Clean BPA, thanks again.

Correct me if I m wrong but the procedure: "go into the system public folders -> Offline address book and made sure that there was a replica server listed" is for Exchange 2003?

Like Pjclarke I have this issue with 2010 and I did not find any solutions, any help would be greatly appreciate

Why would it be any different for Exchange 2010?
Public Folders still work in the same way. They still need to have at least one replica listed.

I think i understand the confusion.. i used the Exfolders tool to manage the replicas for our exchange 2010. That should make my last post make more sense i think.

Ok, know I understand, I was trying to fix an error without knowing anything about Public Folder... After going trough the TechNet Public Folder dedicated page I finally understand the answer, thanks
