  • Out of office replies

Senders receiving the out of office reply, even though the out of office assistant is turned off.
    Using Exchange 2007 sp1 and Outlook 2007 sp2.
If I change the message, the original text is still received by the sender.
Have tried turning off both from within the client and from owa.
Have run outlook /cleanrules and unticked Boolean withinin MFCMapi.exe.
Can turn off oooa on another rmailbox OK so the problem is specific to 1 mailbox.
    Any help appreciated.

    Re: Out of office replies

If it is single mailbox then I would delete the mailbox and recreate. Single user issues are rarely worth spending much time on.

This is quite common, usually when the OOTO message has been set using an older client (Blackberry is notorious for this). Removing the rule in OWA will usually fix the issue, and it is very unusual to survive rule reset.

I presume you have checked it is coming from the mailbox you think it is, and not a forward to another one?

oooa was setup using the outlook 2007 client. yes it is coming from the mailbox.
I wanted to avoid deleting the mailbox as this will also delete the user account as it is sbs2008.

If you completely removed the account and then recreated it, then I would be strongly doubting that the OOTO is coming from that mailbox. I don't believe it is possible for an OOTO message to survive a new mailbox.

What exactly did you do? Did you remove the mailbox and reattach it? Did you export to PST files?
