  • Delegate Mailbox Creation

I have Exchange 2007 SP3. We are trying to move our current user creation process to Tier 1 Support. However, we do not want to give those support analysts full blown access to Exchange Management Console.

Does any one know a way to delegate access in the EMC to allow only access to create user mailboxes?

Or if someone has another solution, I'm all ears.

Look into the standard administrative groups for Exchange 2007 (Organization Configuration), there is a role called "Exchange Recipient Administrator". You have to add the appropriate AD permissions as well.

If you want this a little bit more granular you can look into Exchange 2010 with the RBAC modell.
