  • NLB first, then setting up exchange in both nodes?

    Hello,

    I am going through this article ( http://www.msexchange.org/articles-t...ogy-part3.html )

about setting up a two node NLB cluster Exchange 2007 server.

It is not clear to me whether I should install Exchange in each node, then configure NLB, or vice versa.

I know that with Failover clustering, you have to configure it first , then install Exchange, SQL, etc, ...

    Thanks in advance.

      Thanks a lot moshiko.

I was reading about it right now, and apparently, since NLB can change the MACs, the right procedure is as you just said.

      Thanks!

As already mentioned, Exchange first and then Windows NLB. When configuring Windows NLB, the configuration decision is based on whether it's physical, the number of NICs and whether it's hosted on VMware or Hyper-V or other.
