  • Does Exchange 2010 require self signed certificate

    Dear All,
We have third party certificate from godaddy in exchange 2010, But I also see a selft signed certificate which is generated on our domain controller with services IMAP, POP, SMTP which is expiring on August 1st. I need to know do we need to re-issue it again from our domain controller ? Because already our third party certificate is valid for next two years. Still do we need any local certificate for internal outlook program connections ?

also in subject alternative name of certificate of godaddy our local name of server is included as FQDN

    Regards,
    Wajeeh

The self-signed certificate is installed by default. If you have a commercial certificate and have assigned the appropriate services to that certificate then you do not need to renew the self-signed certificate.
