  • moving from one exchange 2007 server to new exchange 2007 server

As part of migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013, we needed to create an interim exchange 2007 server beccause the old one was not updating to necessary service packs and roll ups.

Now we have setup the new server (exchange 2007), moved all mailboxes, public folder etc.

    1. I need to configure the internal and external urls to match with that of the old server.
    2. i need to add the firewall rule to nat the public ip to the new server ip.

is there anything else i need to consider moving before shutting down the old server?

IIRC, unless you have a CAS array and added the new server to it I think you'll find you need to configure all your Outlook clients to point to the new server.

No CAS Array on Exchange 2007, so the clients will not need touching.
