  • Exchange 2013 server crashed

I have an Exchange server 2013 that has crashed, I also have an Exchange 2013 I was planing to replace the old Exchange server. I have access to a backup of the database. How do I continue? Can I just Mount the database to the new Exchange server?

Is the new Exchange server already configured, so does AD know about it - if so, yes, you can mount the db on the other server (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...xchg.150).aspx)
If it is not built yet, I am not sure - you may need to setup a replacement for the original server (use the same computer account and the recovery switch to install) then mount the db
For the various options, see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...xchg.150).aspx

Disaster averted, it was the power supply that had failed. It has been replaced and the server is now running again.
