  • Exchange 2007 - Is is possible to share user Mailbox (Calendar) with 2 forests

I have a situation where a new employee (UserB2) in a different company (Company B) must have access to a someone's (UserA1 in Company A) Exchange Calendar for editting purposes. I need UserB2 to be able to add, edit, and delete items in UserA1's Exchange Calendar via Outlook.

Both environments are running Microsoft 2008 and Exchange 2007 servers.

Has anyone done this? If so how? Thanks,

What you are talking about isn't actually Exchange at all. It is an Outlook function.

Use Outlook 2010 and it is possible to be connected to two independent Exchange orgs at the same time.

If you don't have Outlook 2010, you may want to look into a Google Calendar ?

Thank you, I have been looking into your suggestion.
Have you implemented this into a production environment?

If so, can I create a CompanyA/UserA2 that will have delegate access to CompanyA/UserA1 and then allow them to load both profiles CompanyB/UserB2 and CompanyA/UserA2 in to Outlook.
Then can they drag and drop Calendar (or other) items between ComapnyB/UserB2 folders and CompanyA/UserA1 folders?

Google Calendars doesn't really fit this corporate model. I would never host company info on Google's servers. Plus on a technical note the Outlook Google Sync app doesnt work on 2010 and 64 bit Windows.

If i am reading this question correctly the "availability service" within Exchange 2007 can do this for you. Free Busy data is accessible using a cross forest trust.
This is the same feature set provided by the inter org replication tool from Exchange 2003. Note the availability service to my knowledge only works with Outlook 2007 and above. If clients are using Outlook 2003 then you must use the interorg replication tool for free/busy data.
