  • Change Sender Name (just sender name)

    Hi all,
I need your help to solve a problem...

My company is working on Exchange 2007.

One user on my company need to change his display name (basicly "Name Surname"). By display name I meen the field "from" when you receive an email.

So I've changed the field "Full Name" in AD (user properties) by "NewDisplayName".

All is working well exept one thing: In the GAL, the user name is now NewDisplayName...

    So my question is:
Is it possible to keep the user's Name Surname in the GAL with that solution?

    or

Is there an other way to change the display name of my user?

    Regards,

    MrFrog

You can't have one thing in the GAL and another thing going on as the From address on the email address. Display Name is that - it is the name displayed in the GAL and on email.

Decide which one to use, then set it as required.

      Simon.

          Hi,

You can utilize the SimpleDisplayName attribute, and use Exchange 2007 ability to have users identify them selves as that value when they send out mail to External recipients.

that's how worldwide, non english display names tackle this

          hope this helps !
