  • Outgoing mail not working

    Hi ,

We do have sbs 2008 exchange 2007 . Now we have configure our AD as abc.local and we do have mail address like [email protected] ....now we are forwarding a mial to xyz.com server for further routing a mail to yahoo and hotmail .....

Now i have created one send connector in exchange ...but its not routing mails for the outbound ...it stays ther in queue only

Now one more issue , i have added the real mail id as [email protected] in email address tab ..but while receiver receives a mail the mail id is displayed as [email protected]....

Please help me to resolve both the issue...

    Thanks,

    Hi Kathy,

You may need to use authentication on your send connector. Does it specify an error in the queues?

For the recipient policy - go to Organization Configuration > Hub Transport > Email Address Policies tab.

Right click and edit the Default Policy, click next twice, and ensure the policy for xyz.com is set as the default (set as reply).

Let me know how you get on.

      SBS 2008 ?

You shouldn't be creating the connectors. The wizard should be doing that. Have you run all of the setting started wizards?

          Re: Outgoing mail not working

Run the wizards to complete the configuration.
Then verify with the ISP that port 25 outbound is open. If it is not open, then run the wizard again, this time selecting a smart host and enter your ISPs SMTP server.

                  Re: Outgoing mail not working

If the wizards have been run correctly in SBS 2008 and your DNS records configured then email should not be bouncing.

This looks like the server and DNS may not have been configured correctly and the best advice would be to hire a consultant to look at it. Microsoft PSS may be of some assistance, but if the issues are DNS related they are going to be limited in how much they can assist.
