  • About PDF file attachments

    Hi all.
Recently I've got a trouble with my company's mail server (exchange sev 2007). When I send a mail with pdf file attachments from yahoo/gmail account to my company's mail, the pdf files usually corrupt, especially pdf files from scanner, like this : http://www.mediafire.com/file/etjatd...P_FPT_2009.pdf. Almost other type of pdf file is ok
Here is the corrupt file I received in my company's mail box : http://www.mediafire.com/file/1yghdd...09_corrupt.pdf

I don't know what is the reason. Can you help me???

    Re: About PDF file attachments

Problem is as likely to be at the other end (Yahoo / gmail)
Do you have any problem with scanned PDFs from private mail servers?
Do you have a scanner set up to scan via email (and what results do you get)?
    Is file size an issue?

from yahoo/gmail to yahoo/gmail is ok.
from my private mail server to yahoo/gmail is ok
from my private mail server to my private mail server is ok too
but from yahoo/gmail to my email is corrupt, pdf file was blank. Generally from outside to inside is not ok, just for that type of pdf files.

Who is doing the scanning? (Not you, I presume, if you are getting them from gmail)

What about direct from other peoples mail servers?

Can you explain how email is routed to you -- do you run your own domain or are all your emails via gmail?

Is it only scanned PDFs or does this happen to any other sorts of files?

          Re: About PDF file attachments

from other mail server is also failed (for ex, I use email [email protected], send this scanned pdf file to my domain [email protected], the scanned pdfs become blank). It happen to only scanned PDF files. Other sorts of files, including other sort of pdf files work normally.

Again: Other company had a report, they wanted to send it to my company, so they used a scanner to creat the PDF file and then sent it via email, used [email protected], sent to my company's private email [email protected]. When I opened that file, it was blank. If they used [email protected] to send the file to my gmail account, the file was ok. I made a test by using my gmail to send that file to my company email, and result was the same, the file was blank. This doesn't happen to doc, excel, rar files, and other type of pdf files.
So I think that problem is from my mail servers. I know a bit little about Exchange server so if you have any ideas to help me, please use simple words :P My mail server system has server : active directory, mailbox, hub transport, and edge server

            Re: About PDF file attachments

Sounds like classic corruption. AV or Antispam scanning something it shouldn't be. Unlikely to be Exchange related, it will be a third party at fault.
