  • IIS SMTP not working

I am trying to configure a SMTP server seperate from my exchange 2007 server. it is actualluy on a windows workstation right now.

i can get the smtp server to send email to my personal email account which is at yahoo but cannot get it to send mail to my internal domain.

i have smtp set to anonymous access on both exchange and the smtp workstation.

what do i need to do for this to work?
we want to use it to send notifications to client and internal users.

i have tried permissions and setting . everything looks right?

is it the 8 bit email thing?

    thanks to all who repiy

Done a telnet test to see what happens when you try and send email?
      Configured the domains correctly?

You could also look into creating a receive connector in Exchange 2007 with the IP of the workstation permitted to relay through it. I had to carry this out the other day, so a SharePoint server could relay through Exchange even though the current receive connector allowed IPs within the internal IP address range to relay through it.
