  • Exchange 2003 and 2010 coexistence

    Dear Techies,

I have Exchange 2003 front end and back end topology and windows 2008 GC & DC in my environment. Recently I have installed exchange 2010 in same environment. All the settings are configured well during exchange 2010 HUB and CAS server installation. The only thing that needs to be configured is the coexistence information for outlook web app. Because some mailbox's are still in 2003. So client needs to be redirected to Exchange 2003 server.

I am new to this exchange 2010, so can anyone of you please help me to complete this coexistence part. And also provide me some stuff about Outlook web app Coexistence.

    Thanks in Advance...

Any Immediate help will be highly appreciated.

    Co-Existence is quite simple.
You need two IP addresses, two SSL certificates and both servers have to be exposed to the Internet. Exchange 2010 cannot proxy to the older versions.

Therefore if a user with an Exchange 2003 mailbox hits Exchange 2010, Exchange 2010 will redirect them to the Exchange 2003 server.
