  • Restrict user to send mail with particular domain.

    Hi friends

Please help me to restrict a user to send the mail to a particular domain. For example if i want to restrict user A to send the mail only to yahoo domain and user B to send the mail only to gmail.

I have search the same in internet and found a solution. If i create an accepted domain for gmail domain with internal relay option and create a transport rule " from user A send the mail outside the organization then bounce the message with 5.7.1" it work. Now user A are allowed send the mail only to gmail domain not others. But i also want to create the same rule for user B to restrict yahoo domain. But in case now both user are allowed to send mail gmail or yahoo, here is the secuirty risk.

If i create the rule through transport it does not really help me. Its work on content filter if he see the word like yahoo or gmail then it pass the message to other domain also.

Please suggest if i can do something for user A and B.

We have also upgrade the exchange server 2007 sp1 to sp2 with rollup 4 but i nothing new in transport rule. Please suggest me.

    Thanks
    Atp.

Why would you want to do this?

Transport rules are the only option here.
If you have the rule working for one user, then just create another rule for the second user. If the rule is created correctly then it will not allow the other user to send to the other domain.

        Thanks Simon

I am trying to test the same through transportr rule, but i think it is not working properly. I have create a rule "From user A, send the mail to outside the org, bounce the message, except @gmail.com$ appears in message headers". It work if user A try to send the mail to others domain but in case when user try to send the mail to both domains like gmail and yahoo then it send the mail to both domains.

Can you suggest where am i missing something or please provide me to steps to create a transport rule.

        Thanks
        Atp
