  • Microsoft Exchange Policies and Best Practices

    Hello all,

    I am working in the implementation of Mail/Exchange policies for the company I work for. As a newbie in exchange policies, I was wondering what are the typical settings one should assign for the following:

    * Maximum Outgoing email size
    * Recommended maximum recipient count
    * Inbox size / Store limits in exchange
    * Email archiving policies
    * Any other criteria that should be taken into account??!??!

    Please take into account that my company is relatively small. We server about 200 accounts and run about on workstation internet, webhosting, email hosting off of the same and only T1 connection.

    I would appreciate any information given.

    The only answer is that you set what is required for your company. This will need to take in to account the amount of data that you produce, the amount of storage and your SLAs, then any regulatory requirements.
    There is no one size fits all answer.

    What I would do for a building company is very different to what I would do for an Insurance Broker.
