  • Outlook 2007 Attachment Size

    Hi,

We have this situation at work that I am trying to figure out.

Exchange 2k7 configured with message size at 20MB internal use, 10MB external.

Outlook client connected to exchange via MAPI.
I tried to paste a 60MB file onto outlook message and got this error.

What i would like to know is if the msg size settigns from Exchange trickle down to the Outlook 2007 client, to the point that you cannot even attach a message of that size.
    Or
If the message I am getting is due to some setting in Oulook we are not aware of at this point.

    Thanks for reading,
    ionut

      Re: Outlook 2007 Attachment Size

Outlook doesn't have any kind of attachment size enforcement.
It is managed by the Exchange server.

        hi,

Thanks for the info, seems you are right.
        Now i found this article
        http://tsoorad.blogspot.com/2008/01/...ize-error.html

Which in turn once I googled the ADSI attribute gave me this article
        http://www.simonsen.bz/blog/Lists/Po...c73669d4&ID=26

In my case it is a combination where we still have exchange 2003/2007 servers running, and different transport settings for each of them

this article also seems to explain where each limit applies (especially to exchange 2000/2003)
