  • OWA 2007 and IE6

We have some users on pilot for the new Exchange 2007 system. We are using IE6, yes I know it should be upgraded but we simply can not upgrade it due to our Intranet requires it and we still have a lot of Windows 2000 in our estate so we can not even install IE7, as we do not want different browsers across our estate.

So the problem they have when they open the email with an attachment, there is a link to open in a new window, but they can not right click on the attachment and save it.

I can do this fine on my IE8 machine, is there something I can turn on or off to make this work?

    Thanks

    Dave

Are they using OWA Light? If so, I don't believe that right click functionallity is available. Try using OWA Premium.

There were using the premium version, but this is what I did to fix it:

      Open up ESM
      Server Config > Client Access
Right click on OWA folder and go to properties
Click Private Computer File Access tab
      Click Customise
      Click Force Save
Add extension into top box eg .pdf
      Ok out
      No need to restart IIS
      Test should be ok

So a bit strange that it works fine on IE8 but at least I found an issue to that problem.
