  • Remove Public Folder replication between Exch 2007 and Exch 2010

    Hi!

I'm in the prosess of removing my last Exch 2007 server due to migrating to Exch 2010. I have moved every role but I'm stuck with a little problem. When I'm removing the mailbox - role I get an error that there is still a public folder replication going on and i have to remove that before uninstalling the role.

Then I go to the 2007 server and try to remove the public folder directory via the Exchange Management Console. Then I get this error:

    --------------------------------------------------------
    Microsoft Exchange Error
    --------------------------------------------------------
The public folder database 'Public Folder Database' cannot be deleted.

    Public Folder Database
    Failed
    Error:
The public folder database "MAIL\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Database" contains folder replicas. Before deleting the public folder database, remove the folders or move the replicas to another public folder database. For detailed instructions about how to remove a public folder database, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=81409.

    --------------------------------------------------------
    OK
    --------------------------------------------------------

When i looked at the MS link provided with the error message it get nothing that I can use.

Is there anyone out there who can give me a clue of what to do?

I think the problem is that the public folder still contains folders. But where do I find these?

I am sorry but they didn't do it for me. I have used the gui tool that you find under Toolbox in Management Console, but I don't find any items under there.

Use the moveallreplicas script that is in the Exchange programs files directory. You will need to use it through EMS.

I have tried that but it comes up with this output:

[PS] C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Desktop>MoveAllReplicas.ps1 -Server "Mail" -NewServer "MB"
Get-PublicFolder : There is no existing PublicFolder that matches the following Identity: '\'. Please make sure that you specified the correct PublicFolder Identity
and that you have the necessary permissions to view PublicFolder.

            + get-publicfolder <<<< -identity \ -Recurse -resultsize unlimited
Get-PublicFolder : There is no existing PublicFolder that matches the following Identity: '\NON_IPM_SUBTREE'. Please make sure that you specified the correct Public
Folder Identity and that you have the necessary permissions to view PublicFolder.

If you run get-publicfolderstatistics, does it show any folders?
