  • OWA Redirection

    We are in a process of rebranding our OWA URL. The original OWA URL is email.abc.com and i want to redirect it to email.xyz.com.I have added a host header in IIS for email.xyz.com,created blank website email.abc.com and set 301 redirection. The redirection is happening properly and users are able to login OWA but users are not able to connect through outlook via RPC when email.abc.com is set as Exchange proxy server in outlook.

    Re: OWA Redirection

    That is what I would expect to happen.
    Your mistake was creating the second web site.
    What you should have done was put the old name as an additional URL on to the certificate.
    Then modified the header with some code to redirect the users. Something like this will do the job:

    Code:
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    if (window.location != 'https://host.example.com'){
          window.location= 'https://home.example.com'
    }
    </SCRIPT>
    Then in EMC, changed the URL for Outlook Anywhere to the new preferred URL, which will be modified by autodiscover for Outlook 2007 and higher.
