  • Exchange Server 2007 - 2010 migration

    Hi All,

I'm planning to install ESXi 4u1 with Windows Server 2008 R2 and migrate my company mailbox from existing all in one Exchange Server 2007 (HT-CAS-Mbx role) into Windows Server 2008 + Exchange Server 2010, can anyone share your experience here in how to do it as simple as possible in one day (assuming the mailbox is less than 60 users ~ 280 GB DB size) ?

What will be the impact to the existing end user using Outlook 2007 and Mobile Activesync ? do they have to reset their existing config and start from new ?

    Don't rush it.
There is no need to try and do everything in one hit - as long as both servers are available throughout then the users will be redirected automatically or autodiscover will do its thing.

As long as the new certificate has the same external names in it then you can simply redirect external traffic to the new server.
