Re: how to defrag Exchange 2007 server mailbox database

Why do you think an offline defrag is going to resolve your problem?
    As it is not.

There is no valid reason to do an offline defrag of an Exchange 2007 mailbox. Completely unnecessary, a waste of time and not risk free.

If you want to reduce the amount of white space in the store then simply create a new mailbox store and then move the mailboxes to the new store. Then drop the original.

However I struggle to see how an offline defrag will resolve the problem of having large numbers of items in the replication queue.
