  • Increasing the size of the Junk Email List

Had this porblam with Exchange 2003 and fixed it via registry "Max Extended Rule Size"

On Exchange 2010 I have the same issue but the "Max Extended Rule Size" has no affect.

The users are getting this msg when sending from Outlook

"cannot add to the server junk email lists you are over the size allowed on the server"

Any ideas in Exchange 2010 where to set the junk list size?

Re: cannot add to the server junk email lists you are over the size allowed on the se

As with previous versions of Exchange/Outlook, this setting is close to useless.

I can guarantee to you that if you clean out the list of senders in your junk email list you will not see a single difference in the level of spam that you receive.

The junk senders list is designed for consistent senders - for example an email list that doesn't acknowledge the unsubscribe request - not for blocking senders of every day spam.

Stop wasting your own and your users time by adding senders to the list and invest in proper antispam software that is based on the hosts that are sending email, not the email address the message is coming from - all spam is spoofed.
