  • SP2 Install Error

    Hi all,

When i try to install Service Pack 2 of Exchange 2007 i get the following error before even logs are wrtiten:

    The type initializer for
    'Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.cmdletCo nfigurationEntries' threw
an exception. could not load file or assembly
    'Microsoft.Exchange.ContentIndexing.Tasks, version=8.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral,PublicToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

      Re: SP2 Install Error

Are you running the installation from a local source or over a network? It should be from a local location for the most success.
Otherwise it could be a bad download or extraction.

            Hi Danny,

what did you do after the SP2 upgrade ?

I wonder what should be done before and after installing SP2 to make sure everything works fine ?

              Re: SP2 Install Error

For me a few weeks ago:
              Test OWA
              Test Outlook Anywhere
              Test internal outlook
Obviously check emails sending and receiving

All was fairly smooth in my home (test) environment -- big rollout on Saturday so I'll tell you more then

                Hi Ossian,

I've read so many "horror" stories in failed services here and there about upgrading with rollup and SP.

Me too, I'm planning this/next weekend installing this SP2 update and quite scared after knowing that so many "casualties" in Technet forum too >_<
